Amtrak needed a little help from CSX on this day
A little help from your friends, a CSX motor gave 53 an assist amazingly only an hour or so late. A tie replacement and other MOW work is underway on the A line.
Amtrak unfortunately has had some issues of late and a failure of one of the P40's sent CSX to the rescue. Amazingly, 53 was only an hour or so late despite this issue.
Despite widespread service issues plaguing Amtrak in Florida for the last year or so, it's been a while since the Auto Train has required an assist home. Such is the case today.
After setting 55 of his 165 loads off in the yard at Brooklyn Junction, Q314 continues East towards Clarksburg on the Short Line.
